SKU: 200213

Fredrick Nelson is a painter who focuses primarily on abstraction, with the theme of nature as well as the idea that art relies on the personal experiences of the artists relationship to the subject. Inspired by 19th century Romantic landscape painters, Monet’s works done at Giverny and the spiritual and physical manifestations of the abstract expressionists, his work is a personal exploration of mark-making and of color. The content of his work is based on a combination of landscape and music. Landscape provides the compositional elements and music influences the application of paint in an improvised and complicated interconnecting of layers. In the artist’s own words “A work of art should interpret nature, not copy it.”
